What's the hottest new fashion accessory for 2012? Wigs!

Winter has always been a great season for us, but even I am taken aback by the growing interest in wigs. For women today wigs are like the little black dress: you have to own at least one.

What brought about this change? Partly, it is the advancements in wig design. A hand-tied, human hair wig is indistinguishable from your real hair, and wigs today are easier to wear than they used to be. Advancements in cap design have made them more lightweight and breathable.

Wigs suit today's fast-paced and impatient generation. Women today do not have time to spend hours styling and dying their hair, they just want their hair to look perfect right away. Also, they do not want to wait years to have long hair. With a wig, you can have long hair for the evening. Women today love the fact that they can change their look anytime they want and have sexy hair in minutes.

Wigs are a practical investment. Buying a wig has a one-time, predictable cost, as opposed to the open-ended costs of salon visits, home hair dye, products, upkeep, etc. If you buy a good quality wig and care for it properly it will last for years.

And finally, wigs are hot with celebrities. Tyra Banks, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, even Lady Gaga proudly wear wigs (some more outrageously than others!) Women have always taken cues from their favourite celebrities and once these beautiful ladies say it's OK to wear wigs, they will follow suit.
