Toronto Wigs: Another Weapon In Your Fight Against Cancer

To an outsider, it may seem like hair loss is the last thing on your mind when you are faced with a diagnosis of cancer. But the truth is, hair loss is truly felt as a loss by many cancer sufferers. Losing your hair is one of the first changes your body goes through once chemotherapy begins, the first outward sign of your illness. It can be messy, painful, and traumatic, and worst of all it can debilitate you right at the beginning of your cancer battle.

We all hear about the importance of thinking positive but I can tell you from experience those are not just empty words. There are many scientific studies showing evidence that positive thinking can reduce the length and severity of an illness. For example, "lipstick therapy", which is based on the concept that when you're not feeling well, knowing you are looking good can boost your mood. How you are feeling can help speed up the recovery process. I have seen for myself what a beautiful wig does for someone who has lost their hair during chemotherapy - they come in depressed and sometimes crying, but when I put the wig on they brighten up right away, and by the time they leave they are smiling and laughing. They look like their old selves again and they have hope. And we should never underestimate how powerful hope can be.
